B次元官网网址 Mayor Tom Dyas is taking some time off work as he recovers from a neck injury.聽

City communications official Marnie Douglas sent out a press release Friday morning stating that Dyas had suffered a 鈥渧ertebral artery dissection in his neck鈥.聽

Dyas is expected to make a full recovery, Douglas said. In Dyas鈥 absence, Coun. Luke Stack will serve as deputy mayor.

Douglas鈥 release did not indicate how long Dyas might be off work. It did say: 鈥淣o further details will be shared at this time out of respect for the mayor and his family.鈥

The Cleveland Clinic describes a vertebral artery dissection as a tear in one of the blood vessels running up the back of a personB次元官网网址 neck. 鈥淥n rare occasions, this can lead to a stroke. But timely treatment, typically blood thinners or a procedure, can save your life," the website states.

The website says that most people with vertebral artery dissection make a full recovery. Treatment can include blood thinners, angioplasty, stenting, and surgery.聽
